Reduce the infection of aflatoxin in maize by using major factors such as planting seasons and post-harvest processing. This project includes awareness raising for the public to prevent contaminated maize or groundnuts.

Prevalence and Control of Aflatoxins Using Phytobiotics

The majority of commercial mycotoxin binders in Cameroon are imported and too expensive for small farmers. The phytobiotics research project is searching for locally available compounds accessible for all categories of farmers to enable livestock to be placed on the market without aflatoxins.

Strengthening Producer Capacity for Prevention Against Aflatoxins in Cereal Crops in Cameroon

2015-2016

The Strengthening Producer Capacity for Prevention Against Aflatoxins in Cereal Crops project overs 4 regions in Cameroon: Northern, Adamaoua, Central, and West, for a duration of 12 months. Activities consist of organizing alatoxin sensitization/awareness campaings; training workshops on drying techniques and storage of maize and groundnuts; techniques for humidity level control, and tecnhiques for aflatoxin product testing.
